Artist description
The inflatablemen are a three piece group consisting of bass, guitar and keyboards. In addition to these instruments, they make use of electronic drums, samples and sound effects to create hook-driven pop songs which combine diverse elements from Brit-pop to drum and bass. The "In-men" are most often compared to synth pop from the 1980's, but use more modern sounds, more advanced drum programming and typically more bass. |

Artist History
The Inflatablemen started in 1998 as a two man project. Lead guitarist/ vocalist Fisher and Bass player Sean Dunn recorded a four song ep (Untitled, Diver City Records), that included three Brit-poppish songs with live drums and one programmed synth-pop track. The band grew into a larger more rock oriented project with a full time drummer, a second guitarist and a keyboard player. After releasing one 7" (the self-released Shopping), the band lost some members and returned to its earlier synth-pop/electronica leanings. A full length record (Machine Age Romance, Diver City records), has just been released. The band now tours and records material as a three piece, constructing its sound with guitar, drum machines, samples and synths. |
