Press Reviews
SPLIT 7" w/ KPF- Profane Existence, #13-1992 "...The Curbs prefer to play a little more aggressive kinda music. The first song is about being a pinball junkie and the other is about being in prison. A pretty decent record." Maximum Rock n Roll, #102-1991 "...The Curbs are more punk, metalish guitar...two good songs. A great record. Watch out East Bay scum, South Bay is picking up." (GF) SLACKER 7"- Flipside, #92-1994 "Seems like we've been getting a weird outbreak of good 7"'s coming into Flipside Headquarters recently and this is no exception. Young, fresh punk rock, pure and simple. The cover of my copy is the "How to be a generation X idol/martyr edition" complete with a picture of a guy blowing his head off with a gun while listening to Nirvana records. And the back is a diagram of some beast with all kinds of descriptions pointing to parts of it's anatomy making fun of the slacker thing." Tedd Maximum Rock n Roll, #135-1994 "Fast, pop-punk hardcore...the songs are generally good. Songs of boredom and broken hearts. We can all relate." (CK) IN THE DARK 7"- Flipside, #97-1995 "Fast pace and melodic hardcore thrash, that has heavy shades of SoCal sound. A much more raw variation of the Bad Religion/NOFX sound. They will normally get that comparison, because of the vocal harmonies they use in their songs. Here are two songs that rarely slow down and peter out, one mid-tempo one, and a slow one to kick back to."-Katz Maximum Rock n Roll, #145-1995 "Fairly straight-forward melodic hardcore...In some ways like SNUFF or mid-period NOFX. Set apart from the rest with interesting vocal stylings..." |
