    Artist History
*As a child Robert Floyd Combs was involved in music early, on television and on the road at the age of eight years singing soprano with a nationally renowned choir. It was in this early experience that he learned he not only had an ear for music but a love for the hard work and teamwork that went into the music and stage. *At the age of 17 he joined with others to create “Desert Ice” a regional N.W.GA band that eventually rose to statewide notoriety with a spot in Bill Lowry’s sponsored “Battle of the Bands” broadcast from Macon GA on GA public television. The band went on to record original works and then disbanded 3 years later. *Enjoying a stint as front man for local favorite “Bacchus Cruise” for two years until it became apparent it was time to start a new project. *In1984 he attended and graduated from “The Music Business Institute” where one of the original compositions “Caroline” was featured in a video project in which he starred. The video was featured on an Atlanta television station. Another of his original songs used to record the class audio project. *From 1985 to 1989 Robert honed his craft as a songwriter in the studio while trying his hand at the music business booking national and regional acts for colleges and private industry. On the strength of the song “Waiting” he was offered a developmental deal with an independent Atlanta label distributed by MCA. He declined the offer citing the need to be more prolific. *In 1990 he helped form “Chastity Rose” an original band that concentrated on original composition. Rather than playing the club circuit as a cover band they decided to build a following in local clubs like “Danny’s” and “The International Ballroom” in Atlanta, GA and “Rock and Country” in Chattanooga, TN where after two years held records for attendance and were considered one of the most popular unsigned acts in the Southeast.Opening for “White Zombie” at Gallaudett University and “SouthGang” back in GA the band sold E.P.’s of their work in regional record outlets and had a reputation of energetic and consummate showmen. 3 years after the inception of the band they were invited to showcase for several major labels, lost a member, and the ride was over before it started. *In 1995, taking sabbatical he sought refuge as audio and lighting engineer for the band “Curiosity Shoppe” happily taking his place behind the scenes. Being on the road as tech support over 200 days a year, the band kept him busy while he planned his next steps. *1997 ended with unexpected twists and turns. After working on a steep learning curve Combs had to transpose everything he had learned to the virtual world of the Digital Audio Work-Station. There he would find the freedom and control he had always lacked and would finally find a suitable home for his music. Seeking a viable day job to fund the project he was invited by a friend to visit the Tampa Bay area and immediately found the respect and opportunity in the business world he was looking for. Five long years and lots of hard work have resulted in the most successful project yet and there is only more to come. We can all expect a lot from this artist in the future.“It’s not that I won’t give up”, Combs says, “This is just what I do”.
