Artist description
Imagine Lou Reed and Hank Williams fronting R.E.M. and you're on your way to understanding what Pounding Birds sound like. Born during San Francisco's last great music renaissance (along with notables such as Counting Crows and American Music Club), Pounding Birds captures the bittersweet emotions of post-last-call nighttime in their finely crafted songs. |

Artist History
Songwriter and founder Ben Rinzler started Pounding Birds in early 1991. The lineup quickly evolved to include Simon Brown on guitar, Pat Thomas on drums and Max Drukman on bass. This lineup eventually recorded "A Perfect Language" at Berkeley's notorious Fish of Death studios. Since then, Brown moved on and was replaced with violinist/guitarist Daniel Hoffman, then Thomas was replaced by current drummer Damon Carmen. |
