Artist description
The soulful, Jazzy sounds of Jimi Jones, an eclectic blend of Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, and Funk, with a unique sophisticated vocal style all his own. His sound is fused together with a smooth funky rhythm, and his own sparkling synthesizer arrangements developed from influences ranging from George Duke, Jeff Lorber, Chick Corea and Prince. Jimi's African nick name, "Sha' D", translates to "One who sings sweetly". Born and raised in Stockton, California, Jimi was surrounded by Jazz most of his life, and says he couldn't neglect the infectious grooves that Funk and Pop had to offer to his musical talents. A student of production and mastering, he studied studio recording and mastering techniques early in his life while becoming an accomplished synthesis/singer/songwriter always opting to create his own sounds rather than using simple presets, a lesson he learned from the old days when they didn't have preset synthesizers. At the same time he was developing both his singing and writing skills. Currently living in the Palo Alto area in California, his love of music has him playing keyboards, producing, and mastering projects, while working on his own style of music and perfecting his songwriting and production skills. All the recordings here were created entirely by Jimi using Korg synthesizers. If you're interested in him doing any production work, laying basic keyboard or synthesizer tracks, songwriting collaboration, or if you're a record company simply interested in signing him, contact him at the following email address: "JimiJones2002@yahoo.com", also check out some more songs from this up and coming Songwriter/Producer at "Http://jimijones.iuma.com" |
