Artist History
Canard, the Duck that Likes to Shuck, has been releasing and performing live music music under the unlikely name of Mike Coleman since the mid-1980s in such groups as the Singing Spoons, Ultraboy, Bacon Ray, the Newsboy Legion and Ancient Brain. His real identity, Canard, the Priest of Wasted, emerged in 1995 on a limited edition tape, "Why Can't Men Feel", a veritable blueprint of his slacker indie pop/space experimentation/free jazz/freak rock sensibilities. He has been sharing his music with the world on tapes, records and CDs ever since, and has mumbled something about putting together a live ensemble to spread the gospel according to Canard in 2001. |
