Artist description
I scan the urban fiords and woods, I read plains and mountains for the sound of European highways, and there, in the pawnbrokers window by the harbour, I find the white birch. It is a lump of charred wood with a tag on it, saying: This is not the Velvet Underground, Portishead nor Motorpsycho. It's not Radiohead or Sonic Youth. It is, I think, today's little thing. The white birch consists of four music men who in four years have released two long play records and one extended, to great critical acclaim. |
