Artist History
Formed over a couple of drinks sometime last century, the band initially began as a tribute to forgotten Irish Pub song groups and showbands. People showed up and refused to leave, and the band was born. Formed by David & Duane Keogh (sort of a beery Everly Brothers) who handle dual lead vocals. From humble beginnings of traditional numbers shook by the scruff of the neck, the band started writing and performing its own material. After the release of the first album, a live recording called "Liverdance!" ex-original Real McKenzies member, and occasional Nomeansno crewman Aaron Chapman joined adding to the fray. The group evolved further, and on the reputation of their entertaining live shows word spread. The group performs regularly from pubs to outdoor festivals through Canada and Europe, and occasionally the United States and have opened for folks like Ashley MacIssac, The Punters and Nipsey Russell. The latest release is "Piston Baroque" that was produced by Spirit of the West's Hugh McMillan. |

Press Reviews
*** (of 4)"This Celtic trio plays bouncy, fast, at time even thrashy tunes about mutineers, shearing sheep, lamenting lamenters and drinking -- plenty of drinking. Unlike most of its Celto-Canuck peers, the earnestness quotient is kept to a minimum and the celebration to a maximum. A fine and fun release."-Vancouver Province, Oct. 2000. "Highly recommended if you've never seen them."--The Whistler Voice Nov. 2000 "They're like a pissed off version of the Clancy Brothers!"--Kevin Quain, Mad Bastard |
