Artist description
From www.into-obscurity.com: "Even stranger than finding out this outfit from Norway was not a black metal band, was reading that they promoted and practiced Christianity. All the preconceived notions of Norway being the coldest, darkest, most demented place on Earth engrained from seeing so many Satanic black metal bands spring forth from the area were quickly destroyed. Silence the Foe shatters any stereotypes circulating throughout the World and also make a name for themselves in the same arena with their debut CDep "When Summer Turns to Sand".
Inspired by similar Christian hardcore/metal crossover acts Zao and Narcissus, Silence the Foe churn out some of the most melodic, yet metallic hardcore tunes under the sun. The raspy screeched vocals of Anders Voldronning go together perfectly with the devastatingly beautiful songs crafted by the duel guitarists Roland and Marcus. "Monophonic Sound of Revolution" is a prime example of how the band uses octaves and eerie instrument intervals to frighten the listener. Couple this with the intense throat-ripping mentioned earlier and pounding drums and you can instantly understand why Silence the Foe is turning heads. The track happens to be my personal favorite on the album. The more emo side of the band can be more easily seen on a track like "New Songs" where the harmony is absolutely encapsulating, yet the vocal stylings remain the same (bonus points...too many bands are switching between the singing and screaming styles these days).
I'm not sure the type of distribution this release will see, but for everyone's sake, I hope you can find it in your neck of the woods. It's an album you shouldn't pass up. Check out www.silencethefoe.com for more information."
