Artist History
Oblivious Minnow started as a studio project in the Fall of '98 by former Pearls 4 Swine and Wooly Mammoth members Jim Scharosch (bass & vocals) and John Morgan (drums & percussion). After completing numerous songs, 10 were chosen to be recorded for their self-titled debut CD. Guest musicians on the CD include Dan Weddle (guitarist/singer for Des Moines band The Funnel Cakes), Jon Chamberlain (guitarist for Cedar Falls/Waterloo band Measure), Will Peters (guitarist for Cedar Rapids band Strange Brewski) and Shaun Renken (Monticello guitar-guru). Oblivious Minnow recently released it's sophomore CD, Healthy Brains Pills, in April of 2003. Guests on HBP: guitarists Bruce Kaiser, Chris Kellner & Rich Toomsen (of Center Point's very own, Violet Island), saxophonist Jeff Ksiazek (formerly of Dr. Z, now of Ponchos Pilot), and additional vocalists Matt Ricklefs, Kelli Hastings and J-Smooth Parsons (of The Parsons Bros. Project fame). |
