    Artist description
For the most part, this is a one-person endeavor with the composer playing primarily contrabass, guitars, percussion, woodwinds and manipulating natural sounds and voice with occassional collaboration with various other instrumental performers. Much of the compositional intent is to give aural life to visual, incantational or mathematical ideas. The project evolved out of a collaboration with producer Craig Harding at Ajax Recording Team (who produced and recorded the Om Orchestra Recordings on this MP3 site).

    Artist History
The "band" consists primarily of Michael F. Patterson, composer and multi-instrumentalist with frequent collaboration with multi-reed performer Dave Streeter. We've been at this off and on for about 10 years, but in the last three, started producing a continuous stream of work starting with two CDs entitled "The Arkham Chamber Society: The Sound at the Window" volumes one and two in 1998-1999. The Arkham Chamber Society is a joint collaboration between Michael and Dave's former group the Om Orchestra and the Jim Steele Trio/Quartet. In 1999, Michael—under the name Micha-El entered his home and various other studios to begin producing a series of solo CDs including: "Ani mi ani:Vol 1," "Second Set: neoterran mythology," and "the arcane knowledge of truth." He currently is finishing a fourth CD with the working title "The End of Civilization as We Know It." He and Dave also are making plans to enter the studio to begin a new joint project.
