Artist History
1995: Released reh/demo “Lords of the Sky” 1996: Released Demo “An Morrigan” 2000 New Untitled Demo Karnayna are a Doom/Death Metal band based in Leixlip Co. Kildare Ireland. Formed in 1993 byguitarist Phillip Mahony and bassplayer Ciaran O’Neill. Many band members came and went, gigswere played and two demos were released but therewas never a fully stable line-up in Karnayna until1999 when Phillip and Ciaran were joined by firstly Darren Moore (vocals) then Dermod Smyth (Keyboards) and later Cathal Murphy (drums).A lot of gigs were then played and many hourswere spent in the rehersal room in preparation fortheir next untitled demo. This was recorded inMarch 2000 and after many delays will be releasedin December. It features three songs The Claw, Of Battles(a reworking of old song The Grove of Horror) and Sounds Call. The Karnayna sound these days is a mixture ofDoom and Death Metal with melodic Celtic styled riffing held together with dramatic and enchantingkeyboards and led by fierce, heavy growling vocals.
