    Artist History
Founded by Bill Burke, Ousia (or formerly so) is one of the pinnacles of his achievements thus far. The name Ousia stems from Burke's academic background in the arts and philosophy. Ousia is an ancient Greek term which literally translated means "being". Ousia is our non-tangible essence that distinguishes us from one another. The CD, "States of Being" was recorded within just two meetings in Burke's living room and is entirely digital.Burke's advice to the listener: "With minimal overdubs, the music is living and near to what we heard through the headphones in the studio. There is a pulse, a breathing, a substantial entity to this music. If you have the opportunity, please sit back and enjoy the ride from beginning to end." -B. Burke

    Press Reviews
    1. "Ousia's CD, States of Being, is an adventurous work that blurs the lines between fusion, new age, jazz, and world music... Ousia conjures up cenematic compositions which transfix and occassionally transport."- Dave Richards, The Erie Times-News2. Of guiatrist Anthony Mazzella: - "One of the top ten guitarists in the country." (Mike Mueller, Guitar One Mazaine)- "The new generation of guitar hero." (Larry Flick, Billboard Magazine)
