Artist description
The Fat Cats are actually Robert and Joni Featherstone, super talented singer/songwriters. Almost always accompanied by veteran pros on bass, drums and sax or harp. Though we strive to maintain a classy and cool appearance and manner (except for Joni), we are often caught up in a state of frenzied abandon, causing speculation as to our origin (Are they from the State Nervous Hospital?). Actual footage of insane activities are probably available but really, folks, we just like to play and sing our own music and would prefer to be well paid for the performance. In the world of corporate radio there is little room for 50ish artists self-produced realities. Yeah, we can rock if we want to and if we ever get to your town we'll be glad to demonstrate: but we just want to play more kinds of music for more people everywhere. |

Artist History
We started as a three piece Jazz Band featuring Joni on vocals, myself (Robert Featherstone) on guitar, and Curtis Manthey on trombone, trumpet, and harmonica. We got great response performing jazz standards and swing tunes. We soon added GeneDavis on bass, and played to raves in coffee houses in the Northwest (USA).Joni and I began to dream of forming a Blues Band, and of doing something with the many songs we had written individually, and together. We arecurrently playing a full calendar of club dates in the Northwest after a number of member changes. Our ultimate goal is to find acceptance for our music throughout the nation, and even the world as songwriters and performers. We are seeking fans, management, agents, labels, etc., in pursuit of those goals. |
