The Extended Radio Mix extends the Radio Edit’s sound with a “Pink Floyd like” guitar thrown in from Don Ashley, post-production engineer, of JC Penney’s Studio also post-production engineer of Billy Bobs Texas TV Show. The Jaz z House Dance showcases a unique dance rhythm and gives a trumpet powerhouse performance in a style reminiscent of Doc Severnson and Maynard Ferguson, while floating an alluring crossover-jazz throughout. The Dilemmatic Mix, which encompasses new-age in a n exalted level, raises you to another mind dimension of celestial sounds capable of elevating your consciousness. The Tex-Nash Soul Mix, is a refreshing blend of Texas and Nashville Rhythm and Blues in a danceable format blended with a base o f soul. Thi s is accomplished with the powerful vocals and by featuring a live saxophone performance by Richard Weidermann interweaved with a spectacular trumpet performance by LZS. The final mix, rightfully entitled Trance Guitar, provides an hypnotica lly enti cing approach to Dilemma, its musical version capturing the essence of the lyrics. One unique aspect with this CD is the co-composer, lyricist and co-producer also known as Voice from the Deep, is John Macchietto. Besides his musical tale nts, Macchietto has a professional background in counseling and psychology. He received his Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of Kansas and has been featured in Texas Monthly. For eleven years he served as a psychologist and director of the Student Counseling Center at Tarleton State University, a part of the Texas A&M University System. What bro ught Macchietto to the music industry? I’ve always been creative and music is a powerful form of expression, said Macchietto. LZS and I showed an immediate flare in writing and producing music. We are a talented, balan ced t eam and we decided to go fo r the gold and platinum. Friendship turned business partners, Macchietto and LZS created Phenomenal Records after developing over 16 hours of music. In describing Dilemma, Macchietto says it portrays a man’s dilemma of c hoosing between losing himself to the sexual seduction of a woman and maintaining his own personal power. Autonomy verses sexual attraction is something most men and women can relate to. It appears they have truly launched a music career with more tha n their interesting backgrounds. Ed Spacek (recipient of more than 30 gold records with stars such as Alabama, Glenn Campbell, Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson and former Vice-President of Promotions and Artist Development for MCA Records) has expressed h i s desire to be in the loop. I have had the opportunity to hear the six mixes of Dilemma, said Spacek. I think the material has a commercial appeal and should be received well by radio. Recently, Larry Shelton and John Macchietto signed contrac ts fo r two tracks of Dilemma w ith DSM Producers. DSM is a placement company that is licensed with Warner Brothers Music and placed music in The Pelican Brief, Wyatt Earp, and the Specialist; three classic Warner Brothers movies in 1994.
