Artist description
Zaida Alfaro is an eclectic singer/songwriter born and raised in Miami, FL. At 22 years old, Zaida has been singing and performing music in front of crowds since she was a small child. Coming from a talented family, she was surrounded by music all her life and learned how to play the piano from her mother when she was 12 years old.
Zaida's musical career began shortly after working for producer Rudy Ibarra. She inadvertently hummed a song in front of him, and he quickly recognized her singing talent. After a few sessions at the studio working at shaping her style and developing her voice with cover songs, Zaida expressed an interest in composing original music. Combining her own original poetry with some basic guitar melodies, Zaida and her producer composed four of the tracks on her debut album, "Train Ride."
After taking guitar lessons and performing at open mic nights, she then began to combine her gift of writing poetry, beautiful voice, and her passion and love for music into composing the remaining 6 tracks on the CD. Her guitar, a Christmas gift she had received from her sister Barbara who always supported her dream, became her best friend and her voice to the world.
"I decided to name the CD Train Ride because it signifies my train ride of life and the different destinations that I have been to. I want the people to feel what I felt, to see what I have seen, and to know what I have learned. I want my music to be the window to my soul for the world to peek in. It is more than just listening to the songs, it is...breathing in the words." Z.A. |
