Press Reviews
Lockjaw - hometown august 2000 Hehe... it looks great! This full length release of this band from Solingen (mid-west-germany) is wrapped in "maps". By first sight I would say it reminds me of the Starmarket booklet but...there are so much hidden ideas - that's fun - We get the isle-idea from the first diy-release and we can find the interpretation of the title "Hometown" in a map of the hometown, printed on the booklet touched by flames and everything painted in pastel light colour... The backside inlay card seems to be a physical instruction... map over europe with details of relais and further more... opposites for hide and seek - do you like that game - We can find two songs from the first release again and here we can measure how much the band improved in this short time. Much more power and the voice has lost the imagination of beeing breathless ;) Much emotions in the lyrics reflected in the whole sound expressed by the vox. Sometimes they remember me of Kitty Empire or stuff like Last Days of April but on the other hand there is too much power and progression to be comparable with this bands... Beautiful sound - and... why isn't that a real surprise... you'll find them on Scene Police.(by anke / www.southspace.com) |
