Artist description
Faggot is a new, softer edged Industrial band put together via the Internet - so far none of the band members have met. No band photograph is provided, as each of the band members have assumed a cyber-style avatar for their presence in the band. Of course each member exists in reality - but their roles within Faggot are only assumed in cyberspace. And, as such, we do not perform live. |

Artist History
The band was put together in 2000 by Faggot, who performs all writing, programming, vocals, production and mixing. Electric guitars are added by Ponce, drums, drum samples and rhythms by Pansy, bass by Nancy (who is a man, by the way, in the loosest sense of the word) and backing vocals by Bitch. Faggot are currently in five independent recording studios working on their first album, "the only opera I like is winfrey". The album is based around the concept of exploding myths over sexual stereotypes. All five band members have a different sexual identity - and the album puts forward the thesis that attempting to "classify" sexuality in terms of "straight, gay, bisexual, lesbian, transvestite, transsexual" is fruitless (if you'll pardon the pun). Faggot is not pro-gay, anti-gay, whatever. It's pro-being yourself. And about daring to love who you choose to love, in an age when love itself is regarded as passé. When finished the album will be released exclusively on MP3.COM. During the recording its tracks will be posted here allowing visitors to monitor the evolution of the band. However, it is likely that many of the tracks will be alternative mixes to the "in production" mixes currently available here. |
