Daye of Skye~The Drums of War
Outburn 19 September 200
The Multifaceted Daye of Skye combines traditional instrumentation and melodies with tribal percussion and experimental noise. Steven K. Smith's Daye of Skye is more melodic and concrete than the ambient noisescapes of his other band Dolmen. Indian and Celtic influences flavor the album, but the key elements are the unexpected combination of heavy drones, swirling guitars, atmospheric synths, and exotic percussion. The vocals range from the melodious to wailing, giving the eight tracks an emotional and intimate feeling.
