Artist description
A band that has its name printed on more buildings on more streets than a thousand Backstreet Boys, Post No Bills is the project of pianist and songwriter Kristopher Rikken (1973-) and a loosely assembled patchouli-scented entourage of regulars and not so regulars. One serious session artist, Rob Leventhal, veteran of late 1970s Bay Area bands now also living in Charlottesville, VA, has lately been adding lead guitar where applicable. Like a major influence, the Grateful Dead, Post No Bills emphasizes the moment over the artifact. Live shows give the best idea of the band's loose and gruven sound and its determination never to play a song the same way twice. |
