Artist description
Nifkin, while undeniably pop punk in style, utilizes a broad range of influences from the rock-and-roll spectrum to give its music a hard edge. In its songwriting, Nifkin creates intense musical moods, accompanied by descriptive lyrics and sing-a-long melodies. Nifkin’s rhythm guitar, bass, and drums provide a racing, distorted backdrop, while its vocals and lead guitar counter with combination of hook-laden punches. The band’s overall sound is fast, loud, and catchy. This band from West Palm Beach, Florida is constantly venturing in their music to expand the possibilities of both the rock and punk genres. Onstage, Nifkin has a full set of 19 songs, and gives 110% to put on shows that are both musically and visually entertaining. |

Artist History
Nifkin was born in 1997 in Palm Beach County, Florida as a three-piece punk band playing original songs written by Blake. Blake, Kent, and Earl, on drums, were Nifkin’s founding members. In August 1999, Nifkin added to their lineup Erik a self-taught lead guitarist whose talent impressed Blake and Kent during a pick-up jam session. Before Nifkin ever played a live show together, Earl left the band to attend school in the northeast. Nifkin quickly brought onboard Drew, an extremely well-schooled drummer who had played with Erik in prior bands. Nifkin's four current members have been together since September 1999. Since that time, Nifkin has played to packed rooms at most of their shows, written a handful of new songs, started their www.nifkin.net website, and self-released the Entactogenesis EP. |
