Artist History
once upon a time John M. Borack, pop journalist decided he wanted to try the internet and signed up with the ID "Popdude". He's regretted it ever since, especially now that after meeting buddy and musician Mike Simmons (of OC powerpop gods sparkle*jets u.k.). Mike discovered that John could play drums. Though he'd never been in a band and hadn't played in 15 years or something he was REALLY GOOD. They recorded some cover tunes for fun (always "live" and completed in 2 hours) and Mike called it "Popdudes". Since then they've played some gigs, appeared on a few compilations, and performed at the International Pop Overthrow. But, popdudes are not limited to just these two popdudes. Anyone and everyone can be a popdude. There have been many. There are many to come. Basically anyone who is at a popdudes gathering and can play an instrument is a popdude. We're all popdudes, you know. |
