Artist description
The Story behind "Blues on the Rocks"A unique voice *a dynamic style* Blues Rock for the 21st Century -- with his debut album completed of blues rock with crossover original songs -- he and his band are now working on his live show which will capture the excitement of this powerful debut album-- to see him is to believe ! Jimmy has used his multi-talents to help others in their careers by working as a studio drummer on numerous records, producing and arranging other artist recordings, writing, singing background plus working in the commercial jingle market. He has opened for name acts early in his career as the drummer and lead singer of a band at that time. For Jimmy the bands have come and gone but Jimmy`s voice always caught the attention of the people in the industry looking for the right niche.Producer Jerry Marcellino walked into a blues club on the coast of southern California four years ago, and heard this crowd yelling "we want Jimmy!""we want Jimmy!" and this blue-eyed tall slender man was waved on-stage by the house band. What Jerry heard at that time knocked him out, as the crowd went wild. Jerry and Jimmy talked afterwards about working together, but it would take four years because of Jerry`s commitments in his Las Vegas business before they would start this project and in the mean time, Jimmy would continue his work in the recording studios. Then finally!!! in the fall of 1998 the combo of Artist and Producer got together in a quiet little studio and created this powerhouse album debut. The first of many great albums to come.A feel of the past and the power of the future....A TRIBUTE : Jimmy inspired by his grandfather calls his band The Motormen. His grandfather Brownie Carslake in the early 1900`s to the 30`s was the Australian and World Champion breaking many world records including his own, at the Luna Park Motordrome in Cleveland. Brownie started with The Bicycle Brigade in Australia to chug bikes and motorcycles in America, breaking records on tracks from Cleveland, Cincinnati,: Detroit to St. Louis and Chicago from 2 miles to 50 miles. This album is dedicated to him, a great champion, athlete and pioneer."Special thanks to MaryJane and of course Jerry, and my new found friends Freddy Mancuso and Harvey (never will you hear the word if..) Cooper, Bobby Mercer and Julio Aiello." (Jimmy Carslake)"Very special thanks to God, for his blessings that have manifested this album into reality." (Jerry Marcellino) |
