Artist description
I think what I do might be described as "Allegorical American Music." I'm in love with the mystery of three chords, a simple melody and sometimes obtuse lyrics. My ultimate musical goal is to write something as simple and profound as "You Are My Sunshine." Everything is done straight off into a couple of mics, mistakes and all. One of the things I've always admired about the Southern delta and piedmont blues players is the way they would work around their "mistakes," this to me is what made their music sound so natural and exciting... like driving blindfolded in the Appalachians. My only real goal is to be true to the birthright we have in our American music heritage. |
