Two hot blonds in stacked heels with big guitars. What more can a rock guy ask for? This Denver act blends punky spunk and heavy metal thunder to come up with a sound that's reminiscent of such bashers as L7, early Redd Kross, or the Muffs. Some Motorheadian riffs, some sex kitten vocals, and more than a bra full of Ramones-like power pop melodies make for a helluva rock cock-tail. The album opens with their self-titled theme song where leaders Anika Zappe and Karen Exley sing "Hemi- Fuckin'-Cuda" like they're playin' the Long beach Arena in '84. "Jimmy West" contains the hilarious opening lines, "He's got a pineapple shaft and a butt-full of napalm," while "Karen's Theme" is pure power pop complete with great hooks, quirky harmonies and some cool guitar harmonics. "Bettin' Man" could be a Go Go's tune if they had more balls and rocked harder, and "Don't Start" is pure fist-pumpin' metal the way L7 used ta do it. Most of these tunes start with a hard and heavy crunchy bass line that could melt the paint off yer Camaro, followed by some punk riff but with a metallic Joan Jett-like hard rock/metal vibe. The tunes reek of sweaty sex and lots o' beer and drugs and that makes me happy. Pretty cool stuff here for all you hot n' horny men, or chicks who likes to fuck and fight (and not necessarily in that order). They may not be quite as accessible as The Donnas but I'd bet they'd beat their ass in a streetfight!!! (KNAC.com, Los Angeles)
