    Artist History
Go Let Go formed in April of 2000, when two clean cut Alter High School graduates wanted to put a band together. Mark King and Matt Hess had been friends since high school and decided to take their almost daily jam sessions out into public. With Mark on rhythm guitar and Matt on vocals and lead guitar, they performed for a Wright State University audience. An audience member asked to boys to perform at a spring festival, which she was organizing. Both Matt and Mark agreed, and decided that a full band was needed for the gig. Matt called long time friend Joe Zanini and asked if he would play bass guitar. Joe agreed and suggested that the now three-piece ask Nick Fariello to play percussion. Nick accepted the offer, and the four Alter graduates began preparing for the show. Even though the band members are separated by several years in age, they had no trouble developing good “band chemistry.” However, because of some differing opinions Go Let Go decided to let go of their rhythm guitarist. With the addition of a new guitarist, Matt Boka, GLG's sound became more unique.
    Group Members
Matt Hess (lead singer, guitarist) is a sophomore at Wright State University. He is studying Psychology and dreaming of Medical School. As a lead singer and lead guitarist, he has no trouble leaving the lab and jumping on stage. He has been there before, playing with the band Altered States. He is a lover of yaks, hater of pandas, and haunted by stage fright. Nick “Spud” Fariello (drums, percussion) is a senior at Sinclair Community College, transferring to the University of Dayton soon! Spud is not new to playing out with bands all over the country, but primarily in Dayton. With bands like Velour, Unraveld, and Ledger, Spud has seen and done a lot including, the Dayton Band Playoffs, coffee house gigs, and local benefits. He has also worked with bigger bands like Shrug traveling the world (okay Toronto) as a roadie and salesmen. This band brings Spud back to the drum set after a three-year stay behind percussion. It’s about time! Joe Zanini (bass guitar, vocals) is a sophomore at the University of Dayton majoring in Marketing. The “raver” of the band, Joe likes to go out on his own and have a good time. Although he is new to playing out, he was welcomed onto the road at the band’s first show. Joe’s bass styles draw from many new and classic licks, from slapping out the funky groves to bass chords, and the occasional slow song. His turn-ons include long walks on the beach, and candlit dinners. Matt Boka (rhythm guitar) resides in St. Louis and is a sophomore at the University of Dayton as well. He played in two bands back in the day in St. Louis and is glad to be back on stage finally. He enjoys breaking strings while playing on stage.
