Artist History
Tim has been composing his own music since he was six years old. At Boston College, Tim's music was heard occasionally on campus throughout his college career. In the fall of 1998, he was asked to compose a news theme for a student play that was being performed on campus. This song became known as "The Theme." As a sophomore, Tim performed with the Boston College Dance Organization his original piano solo "Beyond Transcendence," which was choreographed by Stephanie Wade '01. His junior year, a sneak preview of some of the music from Tim's senior thesis, an original musical entitled "Dating Games," was heard in an a cappella version sung by the BC a cappella group The Dynamics. Tim also worked independently with the well-known contemporary composer Thomas Oboe Lee, a professor at Boston College. Through working with Lee, Tim completed his first symphony in F minor, a string quartet read by the Hawthorne String Quartet, a requiem as a tribute to those lost on September 11th, an Ave Maria, and his first piano concerto in Eb. His junior year, Tim also had a solo piano performance of "The World I Know," at the Boston College Dance Organization performance in Robsham Theater. Tim's senior year was a busy one. In addition to finishing up his works with Thomas Oboe Lee, Tim also wrote the script and music, produced, and was music director of "Dating Games," a musical about the trials and tribulations of dating life in college. Tim also co-starred in the show as Rex Williams. Tim's final performance at Boston College was with his a cappella group the Dynamics, where during the concert he played and sang an original work for his final song. Tim sang and played on the piano, and it also featured Sara Birnbaum '04 on cello and Kara Robbins '04 on bass. Currently, Tim is working full-time in the Boston area while working on new projects, including a screenplay and a new musical. Tim works part-time as a pianist for St. Anne's parish in Wayland, MA. |

Press Reviews
from the Boston College Heights, Tuesday, April 16, 2002 issue, by Paul Crocetti:
"The Dynamics finished off the a cappella weekend with their final show in a full Gasson 100." The seniors all had a chance to sing their signature songs for the last time, and there were a few surprises as well. Tim Davis, A&S '02, performed a song he wrote for the occasion. The number featured Davis on piano and vocals, and a stringed instrument accompaniment. Another special moment of the night was when the father of Barbara Apostol, A&S '02, played James Jaylor's 'You've Got a Friend.'
"Apostol performed her song, Belinda Carlisle's 'Heaven Is A Place on Earth,' which was cleverly arranged by Scott Turi, BC '01.
"The final performances continued with Julie Barton's (A&S '02) rendition of 'Thank You' and John Thomas' (A&S '02) 'And So It Goes.' Davis performed a solid 'Meet Virginia' to the standing room only crowd. The Dynamics kept the show moving nicely, breaking with only a few speeches about the departing members."
