Artist description
Stiff Valentine feels like a completely underground phenomenon with an industrial soundfrom from many different influences. The music is focused on the harder side of electronics, incorporating dialogue samples from dead police officers and apache choppers. Stiff Valentine is an example of a great twist in industrial music. |

Press Reviews
New-style industrial music is making a sudden and surprising presence, helped by LoudChris's marketing muscle.
The album Maimed Chemistry, by Stiff Valentine (Orange Cord Records) has sold more than 500 copies. The music on the album has nothing in common with the music played on radio stations today.
"It's all traditional rape mother earth music from a period of american decay," said The Produkt. "So it's all sorts of industrial music — industrial noise, early industrial, city music, death songs, trash tunes. Not alternative, but almost sort of post-alternative music."
"Anything that reaches people is good exposure for the music," Produkt said. "It's our hope that it does affect large numbers of people, turning them on to music that's been
here for so long."
Will the album spark a trend? There's plenty of great industrial music being recorded, said Dead Gale, another band that worked with Stiff Valentine. The key is having the marketing muscle of a large record label.
The album, produced by Loud Chris, also features Follow Nine, Blow Cane USA, Spooky Batz, and Social Pervert X.
"Talking to Stiff Valentine about this music is a humbling experience," Dead Gale said.
"Because we are in the music business and he is just some kid with an idea, and he knows
a lot more about this music than we do."
