Press Reviews
"They create resonant sounds, nice melodies and an interesting mix of styles. And Steven's guitar is always precise and crystal clear- out in front. One thing that's noticeable on this CD is a lack of confusion. There's more consistency and less straying from the core melody and rhythm than on many totally instrumental collections. The CD begins quite nicely with "Country Roads," with good acoustic lead, strong strumming, a catchy melody and an electric guitar sound that pushes in after about a minute and a half.A few other great tunes are "Equine," where the percussion adds to the smooth flow of the song, and "Avalon" and "Dancing Sunset." The latter is aptly titled, with quick, finger-style guitar accented with emphatic plucking to give it that light and airy feel.Overall, a very expressive and dynamic CD." "DUDE! That's some real nice stuff! I dig it big time! I'm only listening to it on my PC speakers, but it sounds great! I listened to both "Above the Clouds" and "Avalon". I love them both! That stuff sounds like it's fun to play along with... You're phrasing is great! I hear a little mellow Steve Vai-type stuff going on... Was he an influence by any chance?" I'm normally a rocker, but your style of music is what I like to hear when it comes to instrumentals. Once again, nice stuff. I like it so much that I'm going through the rest of your songs... I just caught myself tapping my foot to that "Ireland" song... Ha! I'm starting to hear possible influences like Pete Townsend and old Rush. Do you listen to any of those? Some of those acoustic things remind me of old Alex Lifeson and solo Townsend stuff..." Chris aka "Thump"- Harmony-Central forums
"I agree, that stuff is really cool. Excellent Production!! How did you get that? Thats the sort of production I'm needing to get on my stuff. Your phrasing is really nice, which is really important, you have the gift man. I like the distorted guitar over the backing. How long have you been playing for? That stuff is so laid back, I really really like it. Great work, keep it up and good luck!!" e too man, I just clicked on the play all link. Steve, I really like your stuff. I was listening to "Ireland" which was particularly interesting cause thats where I'm from. Good effort." Sick Michael- Harmony-Central Forums
