Artist History
MHS -known more widely as "Mr. Harker's Sideshow"- first formed in 1995. Through a string of line-up changes, their sound developed into a unique blend of influences ranging from alternative, to classic rock, to new wave and back again. They continually honed their unique sound through live performance, playing to universal acclaim in Northeast Ohio's most popular venues, and went on to play several regional showcases, as well as appearing as an opening band for national acts. After a short hiatus, they self-released their EP "Soften and Bleed" in January of 1998. The success of this effort landed them a sought after spot in Jim Beam's (the booze company's) "One Shot to Stardom" showcase, and resulted in their being named as one of the country's top 25 unsigned acts in SPIN magazine's "Best of the Unsigned Bands" Internet competition. SPIN's web site featured the group's song "Hearts of Stone" in its entirety. Though they disbanded in 1999, MHS' music remains kick-ass for its unique flavor and its honest passion. |
