Artist History
Alan Moore has been teaching and composing music
for 20 years and studied music at university.
He plays piano, synthesizer, tuba and guitar.
Alan has played in numerous bands in the North of
England and several years ago recorded a
self-financed rock album with his band 'Jackson
Cage'. As a music teacher, he writes music for
his students and for school productions and trains
numerous bands, orchestras, choirs and soloists.
More recently, Alan has created a project studio
and website - Screen Sounds UK -
(www.screensoundsuk.com) to promote his music for
TV, film and new media. As "Ginger Cat", he
writes electronic and dance music
(www.gingercatmusic.com). He is presently
completing a media composition course - Music for
the Media - (www.musicforthemedia.co.uk) which
involves writing music for corporate video, TV
commercials, animation, computer games and short
films. The music is often written to SMPTE
timecoded video in order to match the music to
'hitpoints' on the screen. Assignments are based
on real media briefs and are as authentic and
realistic as possible. Course tutors are working
film and TV composers. Alan is presently compiling
a showreel of his compositions with the eventual
aim of obtaining a commission.
