Press Reviews
"Darkest Season" "Scenario Paradox"5-/6 demoCD, SwedenThis is the third demo for Darkest Season, and it contains 5 tracks for a running time of 35 minutes, so thinking about the track lenghts, you should imagine that Darkest Season don't play the more simpliest music you can listen to. In fact their music is a quite complex death metal with many influences from much other genres, in some way they could remember the early Opeth and I think it's a great compliment! The production is average not excessively poor but neither good. Regarding the songwriting, It's not all perfect in this demoCD, there are some average parts and some aspect that could be better amalgamated, but I think it's normal for a young band that have some songs that run over 7/8 minutes...and obviously these criticable parts aren't so much so fortunately they are widely compensated with the interesting ones since it's clear that the band have much good ideas. So if you want listen to a band more deep and various than the classical death metal ones Darkest Season is your piece of cake!(Strenuus)(Tragenda Webzine)(Italy) |
