REV JONES - BASS, STICK, KEYBOARDS, VOCALS Hailing from the musical wasteland known as Oklahoma, is one of the greatest DANCERS ever to live, REV JONES (a.k.a. REV SPICE). A bassist since 1985, REV has been recording & touring nonstop from 1986 to present. From 1989 - 1995 REV was a member of MASSACRE RECORDING ARTIST FORT'E, they released 1 E.P. "Dementia by Design" and 2 full length CD's "Stranger than Fiction" & "Division". In 1997 REV joined the BLACK SYMPHONY, and became an even better dancer. Rev also plays bass on the new Mchael Schenker Group CD "Be Aware Of Scorpions" due out in 2001. When asked to describe himself, REV replied "Imagine the SPICE GIRLS with tattoos on their heads, back, stomach and chest, with really bad hair cuts, a DICK and 2 DISCO BALLS",
RICK PLESTER - GUITAR, KEYBOARDS, VOCALS As founder and producer of the Black Symphony I strive to stretch all musical extremes live and in the studio. I love what I do and will continue to conquer new goals. I hope to create the most magic music can deliver . The band has had several different faces through the years in which I was fortunate to have extremely talented members but was never able to capture the vibe together as a group like this line up . I feel this line up is very special and that magic only happens to a handful of lucky bands. We will do our best to bring this magic to our friends in the purest form possible.
RIC PLAMONDON - VOCALS Ric Plamondon has been singing professionally since age 16. His first project menace, was a club standard and ruled in Los Angeles for 4 years. Following menace Ric was a founding member of Skitzotik, a project that allowed him to hone his singing skills even further. Skitzotik released 2 albums (Skitzotik/Prozac cinema) throughout the world. In 1999, Ric joined forces with Rick Plester and the Black Symphony. "I find a lot of emotion comes out of me with the material Rick writes," says Ric. " he and I worked very closely on this album to get the kind of emotions we wanted to come across." "I can't think of a better group of musicians to be involved with!"
MATTIAS BURSTROM - KEYBOARDS A native of STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN... hails an amazing young keyboardist that is paving the road for the future of the KEYBOARD......

Black Symphony - Tears Of Blood
Rising Sun Records
After a long, unexpected break of two years due to the usual musical differences and the addition of two new band members - Ric Plamadon (Vocals) and Pete Holmes (Drums - ex Black 'N Blue, Ted Nugent), Black Symphony trys to score again with their second release "Tears of Blood ". Twelve new songs with a total playing time of 55.47 min are to be found on the album. The first edition comes as a limited double CD including four cover versions of bands such as The Who, Queensryche, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. But back to the CD: the first song " Tears of Blood" strikes directly into my brain. Genuine singing, great guitar work and a straight groove... a very good one! On it goes with "It Remains a Mystery" which is in the same vein as the first song. The third one, "Take me down", sounds even better... classical song structures with an extremely heavy production - great! Time to see if the next song called "I am Hate" continues in such a way... well, unfortunately not. With this one, the progressive vibes of the band already become visible and that takes a little bit of the power away. But nevertheless, great singing. Bird singing and chiming bells await us at the next song. A peaceful start tends to make us curious about the things to come... and actually, the song keeps what the intro promises. Starting as a ballad, the song goes through some changes only to end as another powerful piece of Heavy Metal. "Burned" is one of the weaker songs, but the singing is suberb just as always. Reminds me a little bit of Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, only in a real Heavy Metal context. "Over and Over" creeps into my ears again. Staccato riffing against a straight groove and held together by the great voice of Ric Plamadon. With him, the band has taken a giant step forward into a great future. On this CD, one great song is chasing the next! Further highlights are for example "Left in Confusion" or "Into the Dark". Altogether a genuine Heavy Metal album with a little bit of progressive influences which I can only recommend to every Metalhead. A unique, well produced second release that is even better than the first CD of the band. Buy before it's too late! Rating: 9
