Artist History Smarmaset, formerly Gov't Cheese, was founded in South Korea by Erin Fisher, lead songwriter, vocalist and guitarist and Adam Fisher(then bassist, now drummer). With their catchy sing-along brand of rock, Smarmaset, kept a loyal fan base while playing around the country of South Korea. The influences ofBlondie, The Pixies, Nirvana, Juliana Hatfield, can be heard in Smarmaset’s patented bubblegum punk sound. Now living in Tukwila, Washington, Smarmaset as welcomed the talented John Rice (bassist) to the group. Smarmaset has been enjoyed around the world beginning with the release of their debut album "Dip"( under the name Gov’t Cheese) in 1996. In 1997, Rodell Records featured Smarmaset on the complilation " Sounds From the Underground VOL. 28". Smarmaset can now be heard in full rotation on107.7 The End (KNDD-FM Seattle, WA), 89.9(KGRG-FM Aurburn, WA), where they preformed live on the Local Motion show, and 88.1 The Alternative (KTCV-FM Kennewick, WA), where they also played live on air. In addition to their numerous live prefomances through out the Northwest, Smarmaset has appeared on the national broadcasted series Squeeze TV. Currently in a favorite record store near you is Smarmaset’s new four song EP " Fairuza Is Blue" featuring the singles "I Am The Girl" and " In My Head". With attention grabbing lyrics & raucous musicianship, Smarmaset is sure to please audiences everywhere.
