    Artist description
The Show comes at you from a lot of angles; rock and roll, swing, outlaw country, and a lot of vintage guitar sound. From the coifed, pompadoured singing, to the smooth groove of the basslines, they strive to push forward with new material and ideas while keeping true to the rock and roll purism that formed them in the first place. The sound is indeed unique.

    Artist History
In reality, THE SHOW began over seven years ago, when drummer Nathan O'Neal and singer/songwriter J.R. Royall began hacking around with music in their parents' living rooms. Years later, freshly home from film school, Nathan called up J.R. again to make some music. J.R. had just come back from Memphis, where he had found the old style of Sun Studios, which was the initial recording-place for artists like Carl Perkins, B.B. King, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and of course, Elvis Presley. J.R. wanted to capture the manic, vintage sound of Sun, while including modern elements of rock and alternative-country. Marc Smiciklas (don't even try to sound it out) was brought on board to add bluesy guitar whisps to the already burgeoning rockabilly/country roots sound of The Show. Finally, Jim McKinney was brought aboard for his foundation groove bass and Americana experience.
