Artist History The Puppies on Acid were founded in Bad Oldesloe, a town with about 25.000 citizens in the northern part of Germany in 1998. Since then, they gradually find more and more fans with their very own style that has developed from each bandmembers’ different musical influences. Surprise, unpredictability, a sort of Image-denial and the avoidance of clichés have come along with the band’s history. But why all that? What is to be expected? What does one want to achieve? The Puppies on Acid think there is more to their music than sheer entertainment for a group of potential consumers. As Jim Morrison once said, a concert is more than a production, it is an experiment about communication. For at least one concert the crowd is to be introduced into a little world of its own and by doing so to become part of the song itself. Every listener is supposed to create and develop his own associations with the song so that it becomes a soundtrack of his own life and his own experiences. Therefore and thereby the band tries to cover a great wave-band of emotions. This is to be achieved by using different styles and songwriting techniques, while one thread and a certain Puppies-style is always kept. Achieving this goal is a kind of like walking on thin ice but this is what makes the whole thing interesting. How all this worked, is working, or is going to work has to be left to the judgement of our listeners with each concert or song they listen to as a consumer and participant of the music of the Puppies on Acid.
