Artist description Hi! My name is Hamish Davidson. I am 18 years old, and a composer of contemporary piano music. I have been composing for 2 years now, and every attempt shows progression from the last. My solo piano pieces are not pure Ragtime, but they don't really fit snug into any other category. In my work, I have emulsified the stylistic components of Ragtime, Early Jazz, Harlem Stride, Boogie Woogie, Blues, Swing and Novelty Piano. To personify this wild cocktail, I am known to include Bluegrass, Latin, Scottish and Irish flavours, as well as addaptions of many fiddle and banjo techniques. I would like to give sincere thanks to Irwin Schwartz, Robin Frost, Paul Copeland, John Gill, George Bogatko, George McClellan, Warren Trachtman, and everyone from the rec.music.ragtime newsgroup who have supported me and my music. Without all these people, I would never have achieved what I have achieved, nor be where I am now.
