BIOGRAPHY OF Octavia "Jymini" Harris Jymini (ji mi ny) Just You and Me In Isolation. Objective: When you are listening to my music I just want it to be you and me. It is very important to me that I have my listener's undivided attention. I want each session to be intimate. My goal is not to become famous. I just want the world to hear the good music I make and with that, turn what I love to do into a business. On June 18th, 1975 at 8:15 a.m. an extremely multitalented entertainer was born by the name of Octavia Harris. Since the day of birth her miraculous gift matured within and was exposed at the age of eight. During elementary school Octavia began to sing and write her own creative lyrics, which held everyone's interest that heard. That was just the beginning. From junior high through high school Octavia began rapping not even aware that she had accumulated several fans and at the same time established a well-known reputation from performing and sharing her talent. Octavia's spicy tracks contain Hip-Hop, R & B, and Alternative flavor, which generate a positive, uplifting, and inspirational vibe. Octavia released her first LP, 151 Drank No Chaser, which sold well over 1,500 copies locally. She then became well experienced and equipped in the local industry of Portland, Oregon. With four years of performing at nightclubs, high schools, colleges, Hip-Hop festivals and touring the west coast had made her "One of the most promising up and coming female rappers". Quote: local newspaper. She then was selected to headline local major events and shows. Along with opening up for Spear Head and Brother Lynch, Octavia was chosen to perform at the annual PO-Hop (Portland Oregon's Hip Hop Festival) and "Without question was the best performance of the entire festival". Quote: Willamette Weekly. Octavia was Portland's first taste of a female rapper in the northwest. Portland's #1 radio station Z100 has an annual end of summer bash called, "The Last Chance Summer Dance". This particular year the headliners were Destiny's Child, Monica, Christina Aguilar, Duran Duran, Shaggy, and Meredith Brooks featuring Queen Latifah. Queen Latifah was unable to make the show due to her new talk show airing the same day. Z100 had announced on the radio that they were looking for someone to fill her place and perform with Meredith Brooks the hit song "Lay Down". Octavia called the radio station and auditioned. She was chosen to fill in for Queen Latifah. Performing in front of a crowd of 10,000 people "She ruled the stage". Quote: Meredith Brooks. This was a glimpse of what the future holds. At this point in her career she was well established in Portland, Oregon and it was now time for her to rise to the next level, Independent. Inspired by successful entrepreneurs such as Queen Latifah and Quincy Jones, Octavia had planned to take her career in an independent direction. Page 2-Bio cont. Wasting no time Octavia, decided to move to the California Bay area. From this point on she's now going by the name Jymini. With a numerous amount of success, here are all of the accomplishments from the time of arrival until present: * CEO / Founder of Mic Fiend Records. * Released a compilation titled State 2 State VOL. 1. Distributed though Bayside Entertainment. The compilation featured independent artists all over the globe. Such as Canada, Texas, New York, Portland, Atlanta, and Sweden just to name a few. This project was to assist other artist with more exposure. * Released The Solo Child Album. All tracks were written and arranged by Jymini, and she produced the majority of the tracks as well. There was prominent Bay area artists featured on this album. Agerman of 3x's Krazy, Assassin, and Suga T. The first single dropped "G'Z Walk To" was in heavy rotation on the radio locally with rap pioneer Davey D, the Internet, and across the states. A video was then shot in Portland, Oregon to support the promotional strategies. * A series of compilations: Southside Story 2 by Dawn Raid Entertainment based out of New Zealand. Hot Rebels 5 & 6 by Rebel Entertainment based out of The Netherlands in Europe. The Play Boy Foundation Presents by Big Ice and Oral Bee based out of Norway. Multiple Ladyfest events, the hottest nightclubs, Hip Hop Film Festivals, female showcases, and performed at countless non-profit organizations. Performed also for radio station events with one Opening up for Ray J. Being a multi-media artist, her next step is to license a catalog of universal music overseas. This will set her up for victory and create a solid foundation in the music industry. Accomplishing each stepping stone set forth has allowed Jymini to remain goal oriented and business minded. This will soon make her a successful entrepreneur and a great asset to the industry and her community. Some say she's the next Missy Elliot for the simple fact she does it all. Produces, sings, raps, writes hit songs, and keeps on making good music. Jymini has claimed her fame and without a doubt will remain in the music industry for a lifetime.

I run a record label in New Zelanad called "DAWN RAID ENTERTAINMENT", one of my friends Zac Bose met female MC "JYMINI" while he was attending the Magic Convention in Las Vegas, I was also their with him but did not get to meet her. Since coming home he only recently gave me a copy of her song "Bang Bang" which we think is dope and would like to talk to you about including it on our upcoming compilation album.Where we are from, South Auckland, New Zealand is the ghetto of our country and the people here (Samoans, Tongans, Maoris) are heavily influenced by the American Hip Hop Culture. We are not a wealthy company, but have however made a name for ourselves by staying independantly owned and operated releasing albums featuring local hip hop talent and now have our own hip hop music and clothing store. With our new album due out feb 2001 we want to show the people of our community that we can link up with other independant act's like yourselves and make something positive from it. So far we have another group from San Diego,Cali called "Abstract Jedis" and eightball from the group MJG & Eightball(Who i also meet while in Las Vegas) has donated an interlude for the album.(we also have a group from New York called "Blacksteele" but have not finalised it yet)We don't have any real money to offer as we are only small, but it will help expose you in the pacific rim and once the album goes off we could talk about getting you down here to headline some of our shows.I know you must be busy over there but if you could e mail me back to discuss some options that would be kool!!Anything you could help us with would be greatly appreciated,Peace YDNA-----------------Yeah, I'm totally feelin' it. Damn you got a lot of great material, keep it realADSmp3.com/alcoholicdeathsquad-------------Jymini-I wrote you a little while back talking about, hooking up on some collabo shit for some tracks. I got a studio on the Central Coast of Ca. (San Luis Obispo, 200miles south of the Bay) ANd I am going to be moving the studio back up to San Francisco in Winter of 2001. Anyways, I already released 3 full-length LP's, and I am hard at work on the 4th one right now. We're also in talks with a few local label's who are attempting to distribute this 4th album statewide when it is released. I was really interested in a couple of those tracks of yours that I heard on your album... You got a Missy Elliot/ The Coup/ Bay Mob type ill vibe going on, and I'm really feeling it. I am interested in getting together on some collabo's, either down here, or up at your lab in the Bay. I can't really pay out $$$ right now, to get us all rich, but I do extend the offer of trading a verse or two/ production on my album... For a verse or two/production on one of your upcoming joints. I got some fly equipment, a top quality studio mic, and a digital audio workstation with the ability to produce unmatched professional industry sounding beats and whole tracks. (I think you already peeped my shit, but I will be showcasing the new sound, and equipment very soon on www.mp3.com/ANTAGONIST) So be in touch, and like I said hopefully we can work something out. Let's get some of us people with talent together, and there's no telling what might happen.Peace Anthony Masters aka ANTAGONIST----------
    Additional Info
I also like to work with the youth! In a few years I plan to build an activity center for the youth. It will be like the Boys and Girls club but my center will be music, art and computer related. Teaching kids how to use equiptment, free studio time, putting together a professional demo and learning software applications. Ages 13-25. Something like that. I just have so many things I want to do with the money I make from my label/CD's and artists. All good
