Artist History Born in Walker County, Alabama in 1960, Dallas was the fifth child and only son of Ira and SaraMartin. When Ira was killed in a mining accidentin '63, Sara went to work to support her family.In 1969, Sara accepted a old guitar as paymentfor house cleaning, and gave the guitar to youngDallas. After a quite school life, ("I don'tthink anybody knew I existed",) Dallas workedat the American Legion Hall cleaning up, untilhe began filling in performing for the late nightcrowd. Dallas now lives in Birmingham and preforms reguarly around the South, looking forthe elusive deal!
