Artist History
Ed Shockley came back to his home state of Delaware after spending 17 years in Manhattan where he played and recorded with such diverse artists as Richard Lloyd and Chris Stamey. He was part of the Hoboken music scene of the early eighties that spawned out of Water Music. His band "Cries" was signed to BMG and released a record in Europe to critical acclaim. He also appeared on television shows, off-broadway shows and was the voice on many national televison and radio ad campagns. In Delaware Ed re-united with guitarist co-writer Kevin Walsh to produce the self titled vinyl shockley cd. Songs from that cd were used in the Bravo Entertainment Network's Tale Lights television series and served to put the band on the map. The new cd 'Wild Hair' finds Ed and Kevin at it again, this time with old friend Keith Mack(Scandal, Joe Cocker and Paul Young) producing and joining in on guitar. |

Press Reviews
Wild Hair is a labor of love that treats listeners to an intriguing selection of songs - ranging from slow, bluesy burns to some cool, groovin' struts. Ed Shockley is singing better than ever, and the new CD presents a rich showcase of his distinctive voice. This is saucy, soulful music. - Bill Rawlins ( Purdue Univesity)Vinyl Shockley is soul on a long hard roll! Ed don't need to get any better! Like the steady turtle bellowed after an abrupt stop "I thing I got a 'Wild Hair' up my butt! 'Wild Hair' makes me forget I'm so white!" This band is "Uptown". It is North Philly Cadillac Bar nineteen sixties Fat's Domino Walking to New Orleans original. Push play and feel the love! Close the door if your'e alone!Dave Fredrick - Cape GazetteA street party gaining momentum, somwhere between blues and R&B. I defy you to find a more sincere or happier musician than Ed Shockley.Peter Howell - It's The Weekend |
