Artist History
Shafto Funkenstein formed in the spring of 1998, when Brian and Gordon conceived the name "Shafto Funkenstein's Pimp Militia and Sounds of the Seventies Supa~Symphony." After mobilizing the jazz/funk forces of Cornell College, this funk machine made its debut at Cornell's Summer Slam. Over the course of the next year, the band played shows from Cedar Rapids to St. Louis, MO, wowing crowds and spreading the funk. |
