Artist History Dave called me up one day to book this band called chocolate for derf's show down at KUCI about four years ago. I didn't think much of it...another gig for aspiring local bands. They played on the air graveyard shift to a bunch of speedfreaks, insomniacs, and students in South Orange County and that was cool. Let's not forget the memorable show at the now defunct Loft in Old town Pasadena: pay-to-play, run by Christian Scientists. Well the boys played again, and this time, something clicked...Louie said "Slimey Little Worm" sounded like old Green Day. Well, maybe; David said that he was talking to them about hooking up more shows, while I thought it was cool that the band were always up for any gig, anywhere and anytime. Good enough for me. Saul's a serious Weezer fan and parks in all the wrong spots. He plays guitar and sings. Gramma gets his fourties in Altadena, where the stuff is stronger. Why do they call him that? Dave plays in another band called o.h.m. and is inebriated 98% of the time i see him. His bass guitar is louder than police sirens, or some type of full scale riot. Jon is the drummer. He rocks harder than Tommy Lee at his prime. Just check out their new songs. Amazingly loud, beautifully arranged and sonically...well, it's like having a fresh cup of coffee and letting the tunes soundtrack the good life, know what I mean?
