Press Reviews
"Not much for introductions, the Modifiers crank into nearly every one of these dozen songs with
near-abandon. At times sacrificing tunefulness for the sake of drive, these one-time Lollapalooza vets crash
fraternal combinations of thumping bass and four-count drums with squeally strings in such tracks as
"Favorite Waitress" and "One False Move." Among the more rhythmically controlled offerings are the Jim
Morrison/Eric Burdon-y "Tonight," the clever relationship tune "Rough Draft," and the homegrown
"Outbound," an homage to subway tunnel denizen-cum-overnight sensation Mary Lou Lord. "Earshot" adds
a touch of heartland twang to the mix, while "Possession" is a non-stop, four-letter, fist-pounding punk cut.
Though they may be a bit more Lemon-headed and harder-edged at times, with the Modifiers on the block,
there is little need for Replacements."
