Press Reviews
In an area where scruffy and catchy guitar-rock wasan inescapable norm not too long ago, it seems oddthat this Greensboro quartet haven't yet made alarger splash with Triangle audiences. The band'sincredibly sporadic rounding of the local club circuitcertainly hasn't helped win new fans. But you couldalso surmise that maybe our collective ears justaren't used to hearing a band that slowly stumblesthrough sickly brilliant pop songs in such adeliberate and deconstructed manner. But lest youthink that Rebar couldn't or shouldn't be the objectof mass appeal, be forewarned: Sanders Trippe's triumphantly theatrical vocalsand the band's obvious worship of David Bowie (they can even play all ofZiggy Stardust!) strongly suggest otherwise.
