Artist History Silver Lake, CA’s PUNCHBOX has always favored mixing their rough-and-tumble punk energy with superlatively chunky guitar riffs infused with a finely tuned pop subtlety. Influenced heavily by the post punk bands of the mid-eighties (Replacements, Soul Asylum, Husker Du,), PUNCHBOX owes its flavor to the fact that all members hail from east of the continental divide: Buffalo, NY; Scranton, PA and Minneapolis, MN.

Nice '30s shoes, guys. The alternative music coming from Rob Burke (vocals/guitar), Tony Spiotto (vocals/guitar again), Mike Diaz (drums), and Cliff Frates (bass) is alternative rock, with attitude, with a cool mind-stream you can at once relate to if your hair isn't too gray. The guys on guitar shine. No, I should take it back. The whole band reflects sunlight. Not sure how long they've been together, but their 7 song EP thrives with unified energy. I especially like 'Smashed' and the wonderful 'Here She Comes', which rocks like cubes in a drink. I don't know who they're talking about coming, but she must be frightening. Hell, the Music is. Or maybe the singers are alt-rock freaks who are about to freak her out with their stares? You decide. Pretty great music from these young rockers in the odd clothes.
