    Press Reviews
(http://www.ward42.com/raw/reviews/mspin.html) m.spin doesn't offer a great deal of variation in his tracks, at least not enough to get the tunes on the charts or radio, but what he does offer is a more minimalist/experimental approach to sound placement, effects and simplicity and in that mode, this music definitely deserves a listen. heavy on the acid flavouring, this electro track, highway 420 is much like a long and winding road. it takes some time to get there but if the scenery is cool, it doesn't much matter how long you're on that road. this track is pretty simplistic in its scope and meanders along its trippy path probably just a step or two too long. still, prior to listening to this i had on underworld's pearl's girl and i'm making the adjustment to m.spin's highway420 pretty well. that has to tell you something. a familiar new agey flute sample, much like you'd expect from enigma or deep forest, is combed into this almost tribal but minimalist track, electronodocia. it's a bit too pedantic and without a great deal of variation but the flute sample adds balance as do the little effects and strikes placed here and there. maybe if i were sitting in a field at night, howling at the moon this number would take me places or give me visions but right now, at my desk, the lack of evolution doesn't keep my interest level up high enough. this would be a pretty cool movie music piece though. daydreams is another trippy, digitalized number. obviously not big on placing too many layers in his music, m.spin offers up another course of simple, straightforward electro in this short track. phaser sweeps and spacey bass make this song stand out from the others. short and sweet but packing enough strange punch for the listener to give it a serious and extended listen just to make sure nothing was missed. nice.
