Artist History
Disapppointment Incorporated formed in mid-1997 when lead singer/songwriter Brian Burns decided to give up his life as a merchant seaman and concentrate on the music that had always danced in his head. Having met his would be bandmates during brief periods at home, Burns looked them up on his return.Excellent players, Warren Huart, Mark Chrisitian, Doug Van Dyck and Roel Kupier would be a match in both sonic intensity and vision to Burns. Together they became Dis, Inc. The band's first live performance was with Mike Watt at a tiny club in Anaheim. There was an intensity to their live show that matched their music. In March of 1998, the band signed with Time Bomb Recordings and recorded a live EP at the tiny club that gave them their start. Spoken Through The Profits roused critical curiosity and earned the band a reputation for the unpredictable. In early 1999, Dis, Inc. went into the studio to record their debut full-length. Aggressive and penetrating, F=Ø evolved as the logical follow up to the EP; snarled energy is conducted through every verse and the album is often a deeper portrait of a frantic psyche. Don't Think The Sun, the album's lead track, is uptempo and magical with blazing guitars layered over a top-heavy beat adding to the fantasy. |
