Artist History
Becky's Ankles was founded in 1994 in the back of a 70's Dodge TransVan Recreational Vehicle.Since that time the group has performed improvisationally on over one thousand hours of tape and studio time.Their first major release was the 1997 double album, "The Opposite of Laundry" which sold over ten copies and was widely regarded as a, 'good thing to set a couple of drinks on.' Then, in the early part of 1998 they broke through to the realm of pop music with the classic album, "Windowland" which contained such hits as 'Of Human and Fly', 'Older Than a Lady', and the title track. Close on the heels of "Windowland" was the critically not-so-bad record, "The Satisfaction of Knowing You" which heralded the release from prison of the six-lunged monstrosity....The Incredible Char. Since that time the group has recorded the 'live' psycho-thriller concept album, "Pan's Sizzling Bulb" and the excessive budget studio project "Paper or Plastic" which signals the first recorded version of the song 'Prickly Pear'. The most recently released project from the group is the studio-intensive, "Gallileo's Hat" which is the first appearance ever of a pre-planned piece of music on a BA recording. The band continues to record today on thier Steamboat Studio just off the coast somewhere in international waters where they can't be apprehended. If you listen closely, you'll be lucky not to hear them. |
