Artist description
BB is an American raised, half-Swedish, half-German and totally wacko kind of guy. He lives on the Icendic countryside after a stint of years in the degenerate Swedish outback (and NYC, Chicago & Stockholm - truly a man of cotradictions) - real hillbilly country. He comes straight out of the traditional singer-songwriter tradition as he and his Medicine Men deliver rock ´n roll spiced with lyrics containing both political consciousness and vivid satir. His Midwestern roots give musical hints of an American "Heartland" influence - but his lyrics expose him as a guy "on the other side of that thin line"... He is divorced man and intends to stay single as long as he can. But since moving to Iceland he is having second thoughts on this matter. Can you believe - BB in the middle of ***in nowhere surrounded by volcanoes, raging seas, glaciers, mountains, torrenting crystal-clear rivers and beautiful women... |
|
Music Style
A wild mixture of blues, folk, country and heavier rock spiced up with strange sounds and an attitude far from the general Swedish pop/rock exports of today... |
|
Musical Influences
Tom Petty cloned with some Zappa genes, Dylan, Roger Waters, Arlo Guthrie, Neil Young, Captain Beefhart, Son Volt, The lizard guy and the suicide in Seattle |

Artist History
In 1997 BB decided it was time to come forth from his dark closet of obscurity and he put together a band of professional musicians from Stockholm, Sweden (as well as being nut-cases) named The Medicine Men. The band released their critically-acclaimed debut album Seasons in the Heartland 1997 on BMG Sweden. The album was recorded on the secluded island of Gotland - but it sounds closer to Lubbock...During 1999-2001 BB and fellow Medicine Men Mats Ymell and Magnus McKenzie recorded the mellower album "Winds of the Circle". This material was recorded in their studio C-90 outside Stockholm. It gave their supporters their second album (only available at mp3.com). BB has thereafter been engaged as a songwriter for the acclaimed Swedish artist Josefin Nilsson. He has also co-written half the material on the critically acclaimed album by Ainbusk Singers called "Honung & Salt" (EMI 2001). He thereafter recorded a more modern & commercial record entitled "Wild and Wired". He is currently involved in several songwriting projekts for himself as well as other acclaimed & unknown artists. Included in this are 35 newly written songs to be recorded as a 2 album project named "Love is War" and "Livingstone Street". 11 songs on Livingstone Street are now more or less finished - the best stuff from BB yet as he returns to his Americana/Heartland sound with a vengence. This may or may not relate to his traumatic 16 month stay - unjustly sentenced - in the Swedish Judicial & Correctional System. Some real self-lived blues await the listener anotherwords... |

Press Reviews
All of BB and The Medicine Mens Reviews - good or bad (almost always good) - can be found under Calender and Notes to fans. GO THERE !!!!!!A few assorted Swedish Newspaper reviews include: " For more than 50 minutes this is the most convincing Swedish album this year" - 1997 Kristianstadsbladet " Since Ulf Lundell (Swedens most popular Swedish rock-artist doing his stuff only in Swedish) never will become an export item, then perhaps one should send BB and the Medicine Men instead" - Eskilstuna Kuriren " The music on the album spellbinds, affects and surprises the listener..." - Södertäljeposten " As a whole, the band has total control in both expressing the English language as well as their musical form...they do it all in a very convincing manner...The album has been preceded by the cult-hit "Let the loonies loose"..." - Topp 40 The band has gotten well over 100 reviews after placing its music on the net. An overwhelming majority has been very positive - and it is in fact good that one cannot satisfy all tastes of the mindless masses - according to BB. Among critics include the people at MP3yak.com with their review that gave a hard to get "FourYakAward" |
