Artist History In 1995 a young brother from New Orleans grew increasingly tired of being what he refers to as a "studio hoe" and began saving his pennies and buying recording equipment. Held up in his apartment; which would later be affectionately called the Southern Funk Lab (in reference to his southern lineage), he began to lay down his thoughts and dreams on little four track recordings. As time went on and things grew, other friends (artists in their own right), came down and joined in the ruckus that was going on down in San Leandro. This is a collection of some of those works. Like children, they yearn for love, they long discerning ear. It would be a crime to let them die lonely deaths, and be unheard by those outside the Southern Funk clique. Forget marketing strategies, demographics, and classifications. Listen to the music and hear the growth; the emotion laid down by Bliss and some of the talented people who have come through the doors of Southern Funk. We will not separate these joints with classifications; you decide. For this particular journey we will do the driving...the scenery is up to you.
